Writer-director Barry Jenkins follows his much-acclaimed surprise Best Picture winner Moonlight with this adaptation of the Protected content Baldwin novel about a young Harlem couple.

If Beale Street Could Talk tells the story of Tish (KiKi Layne) who seeks to clear the name of her wrongly convicted husband Fonny (Stephan James) and prove his innocence before the birth of their child in Protected content New York.

The romantic drama is nominated for three Academy Awards: Best Supporting Actress (Regina King), Adapted Screenplay (Jenkins) and Original Score (Nicholas Britell). Regina King already received the award for Best Supporting Actress at this year's Golden Globes, where the film was also nominated for Best Motion Picture - Drama and Best Screenplay.
