MIMESIS – Mime & Physical Theatre Festival
The Parisian mime mafia strikes again! – It's time for the 8th annual MIMESIS festival which showcases a broad variety of mime and physical theatre acts.
The show lasts little more than an hour and is usually very good and well designed. I definitely don't always like everything – I try to go every year – but always leave thrilled and energized. The show on the Sunday afternoon (Programme B) ends with one of my favourite Parisian mime companies, Les Elephants Roses, directed by an Argentinian friend of mine, Florencia Avila. My guess is that it's worth going just for their 10 minutes!
We'll meet half an hour early. Then stay around and chat after the show. There's a bar at the theatre.
Protected content is a theatre and cultural centre for the deaf. The first time I went, I learned that instead of clapping your hands after a show you raise them in the air and shake them – so that the actors - often deaf - can really SEE your appreciation!
Make sure you book your ticket soon if you want to join! They always sell out, as far as I can remember.
