France - Sud-Ouest
well, always hard to decide what to do
post an event in time, then you can plan,(which in itself is good, I think Protected content people can "make their reservation" and then forget / cancel on short notice / simpy not care.... or make surprise events.
This time I go for plan, so here comes Sud-Ouest, a region I have wanted to do for a long time. In the past famous and important for the pilgrims on their way to Santiago, then delivering wines to back up the Bordeaux wines, later caught between the famous Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhone regions and almost forgotten, luckily the region sees a comeback. You do not get your internationalized "Cabernet"/Merlot "Napa-or-wherhever-in-the-world style, but rustic old grapes like Malbec and Tannat, now important in South America. Then there is the old Fer Servadou or Braucol - embelmatic for Marcillac. Maybe these are perfect January wines.. let`s see.
We will try wines from ACs Irouleguy, Madiran, Cahors, Marcillac and Gaillac, plus an extra guest from Pouilly-Fumé....
