Poetry, Drama and Live Music on 'The Night of the Arts'
On August 24, which is known in Helsinki as "The Night of the Arts", you can enjoy short performances by two of Helsinki's premier amateur theatre companies; The Really Small Theatre Company and The Finn-Brit Players. This event is free of charge.
From 7:00-7:30 pm The Really Small Theatre Company will perform a 30 minute piece with a Chekovian theme. Then, from 7:45-8:15 pm, you'll be entertained by poetry and short monologues from the Finn-Brit Players featuring both comedy and tragedy, and authors ranging from Shakespeare to contemporary poets.
Some of the people performing in the Finn-Brit Players part of the evening are shown in the coloured photo. The stars of The Really Small Theatre Group's production appear in the black and white photo.
These two performances will be followed by an hour of live music by The Fashion Criminals featuring popular tunes from the 60's, 70's and 80's
The evening entertainment is part of the Protected content annual Open House event. Their doors will be open all day on August 24 and a full programme will be offered, including free English language testing and lessons. Check Protected content
