This is an online free 1 hour talk organized by the Historic Royal Palaces Chief Curator, Lucy Worsley. Join her for a romp through centuries of sex and scandal exploring the history of Royal Mistresses.
Lucy will examine the salacious gossip that surrounded monarchs and their courts throughout the centuries, bringing to life the likes of Henrietta Howard, the long-time mistress of George II and lady-in-waiting of his wife Queen Caroline, and of course, Charles II and his many mistresses, including Barbara Villiers - his mistress for 14 years - and Nell Gwyn.
