Ready to Join?

Have you ever dreamed of becoming an active crew member on a sailing yacht rather than being just a passenger? Knowing what to do, how to do it safely and pulling it off with full confidence? Here is your chance to get there in a relaxed and fun setting among fellow Internations members.

The course is a hands on practical course and does not require any prior sailing experience. During the course you will learn about sailing theory, parts of the boat, essential knots, ropework, handling sails, what to do during maneuvers and living aboard. By the end of the weekend, you will have learned & practiced all the essentials to becoming a confident yacht crew member and the right hand of your skipper.

We will leave Cologne/Düsseldorf on Friday evening after work and drive to Ijselmeer, Netherlands. After a light dinner on the way we will proceed to the yacht and have a short theory session to kick the weekend off. Following breakfast on Saturday morning, we will start with the practical training. We will have a lunch brake on the boat and keep on sailing in the afternoon. We will spend Saturday night in the marina and eat out at a restaurant. The schedule will repeat itself the next day and we will get back home on Sunday evening with lots of sailing knowledge and unforgettable memories of a fun weekend.

The yacht will have 3 cabins and you will be able to choose your accomodation type (single occupancy cabin or double shared cabin / saloon bench) to maximize your comfort on board.

There will be a maximum of five students along with myself as the instructor so that each of you have ample opportunities to practice.

The attendants will get a certificate of participation at the end of the event. This would not substitute an official licence but the practical knowledge gained throughout the weekend would be relevant if you want to take an official exam at a later point.

We may need to stay in the harbor if there is a thunderstorm that would make it dangerous to sail. In any other weather condition including rain, the event will take place as scheduled.

Reserve your calendars for the weekend for now. I will confirm the trip if we have enough participants who register & pay the contribution fee.

Payment deadline: September 3rd
