Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick
Many of us heard about North Korea, a few (maybe none of us) have been there.
Let us have an insight of the life of this country through the experience of six average North Korean citizens. The stories are set in a chaotic period that saw the death of Kim Il-sung, the unchallenged rise to power of his son Kim Jong-il, and the devastation of a far-ranging famine that killed one-fifth of the population.
As the title already says it, Nothing to Envy; probably lots to discuss!
