We will volunteer at Gacharage-ini community library and engage with the local kids and youth on Sat. Bring story books ,writing materials, games -Activities will be: arranging books,labeling, filling and teaching games. This library is supported by Aberdare cottages where we will spend the night.

We will have time in the late afternoon for a short hike, Sunday we will have 4 hours of hiking before our departure

Hiking along Mathioya river is one of the most relaxing and unique experience for outdoor lovers, spectacular views of tMathioya River, the tea farms ,interlocking valleys and ridges make the hiking adventure a life time experience.

The river line trails are very scenic. Walking as you listen to the sound of the river and chirping of birds is quite intriguing. Mathioya river is one of Kenya’s finest trout rivers. The trout comes from the forests and foothills of the Aberdares. Your great opportunity to try fly fshing. You can combine short trek and fishing or plan for a sunrise fishing expendition. Fishing is best done in the evening or very early in the morning.

The drive to Mathioya takes about 3 hours Max. We plan to leave 7am and arrive by 10am -lastest.

This cost include:, 1. Shared accommodation in tented camp 3.Meals (lunch, dinner,breakfast, lunch) 4. hiking, 6. water

Transport: Car pooling

What to carry:
warm clothes for the night (it can get really cold) Comfortable walking shoes, comfortable hiking pants and t-shirts, rain coat ( incase of change of weather), extra clothes, personal items, water bottle, sun cream, insect repellant, sunglasses, camera.
