Picturesque, steep forested ravines and open moorland characterise the Aberdares. The Park boast of a large mammal population including all the big five. Others include bongo antelope, giant forest hog, black serval cats, Colobus monkeys etc, and rare sightings include the melanistic leopard(black Panther) among others.
