The Swallows of Kabul

After the dinner, we will see the film. The setting is summer Protected content in ruins under Taliban rule. Zunaira and Mohsen are young and in love. Despite the daily violence and misery, they hope for a better future. One day, a foolish gesture causes their lives to take an irrevocable turn.
"The Swallows of Kabul" is a critically acclaimed Protected content film directed by Zabou Breitman and Eléa Gobé Mévellec, capturing the poetry of Algerian author Yasmina Khadra’s Protected content of the same name. The graphically rich, 2-D watercolour style animation portrays the stories of two couples living under Taliban rule in Kabul in the nineties and the ways their fates become intertwined by a dangerous act of humanity.
There will be a live Zoom Q&A with the film's director, Eléa Gobbé-Mévellec, after the screening.
