A SIMPLE FAVOUR - a bouncy nail-biter with lots of wit and charm
I hope all you guys are doing well, perhaps have even watched some nice films since our last meeting. It’s high time, however, we watched something together😊 It looks like the season for good cinema films has only just been starting to gather momentum… And the foretaste of that seems to be A Simple Favour - a pearl among bulging with laughs, but at the same time suspenseful, thrillers. I thought something a bit lighter (compared to the last month’s drama), but still great, would work a treat😊
I mean, everything about this film appears to be fantastic. The brilliant cast - sweet and charming Anna Kendrick, and phenomenal Blake Lively (we’ll never forget her in The Age of Adaline, will we?:), among others. The film’s French pop soundtrack is said to be very sensual which I guess bodes well, too😊
And most importantly, the storyline! The jury is still out on whether it delivers more suspenseful twists and turns or witty humour. Just check out the following:
“It keeps you on the edge of your seat and, even at the end, you still can't believe the twists and turns that play out”
“The film is packed with jokes, most very funny. The ones that are not as funny usually land anyway, thanks to Kendrick's sly delivery and Lively's blithe way with a putdown”
“…jazzy, a little sleazy, and worth a cult following…”
“…delicious black comedy […] Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively are wicked fun in this tale of an odd couple friendship turned bizarre mystery…”

After the screening we can all let our racing with excitement pulse slow down a bit in a nearby café chatting and enjoying ourselves😊
Looking forward to seeing you all!
