BLINDED BY THE LIGHT, deeply heartfelt rock n' roll parable!
There are some awesome films out this month so how about we pounce on that great opportunity!
To be honest, I was a bit torn at first, was dithering between two titles - Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Blinded by the Light. I hear both are great, but I gather it's probably better if we stick to the latter - it's simply garnered better reviews so far and cos it came out a bit earlier (than the other one) it's gonna be not as crowded this weekend:)
Anyway, let's see what some professionals have to say about the film...
From New York Post:
"I guarantee it will make you feel better than any other film that comes out this year."
From Entertainment Weekly:
"A Technicolor ode to the power of music so deeply tender and heartfelt that it disarms even the most misanthropic critic's instincts"
Variety says it's:
"the sort of unguarded drama they used to make in the ‘80s — a coming-of-age tale of unabashed earnestness — but it’s also a delirious and romantic rock ‘n’ roll parable"
Film Threat calls it:
"a feel-good movie that tackles a bunch of tough topics, from politics, race, family traditions, social frustrations, and romance" yet "never feels preachy or overly cheesy."
Please, join us this Sun for a lot of fun together - after the screening we can socialise a bit in a local café🙂
