“Arriving at Reality” features both Motherwell’s seminal “Open Paintings” series as well as a survey of related collages spanning his five-decade-long career.
2) Ena Swansea: Mental Map: Central Park
Latest paintings of urban landscapes by American female painter, Ena Swansea, many depicting luminescent snow scenes that verge on abstraction. Swansea attended film school and continually introduces elements normally associated with digital art and film to otherwise traditional painting techniques.
3) Matthew Wong: Day By Night
“Day by Night” comprised of a series of large-scale oil paintings of imagined landscapes by Canadian Chinese Matthew Wong. Consisting of eight works titled according to the day or night view, Wong proceeded with this body of work by first intuitively painting a day scene, followed by its night counterpart through a recalibration of the chromatic elements.
