In Protected content , the UN General Assembly officially designated November 19 as World Toilet Day. The theme for World Toilet Day in Protected content “wastewater.” .The SDGs include a target to ensure everyone has access to a safely-managed household toilet by Protected content .

World Toilet Day is about inspiring action to tackle the global sanitation crisis. Today, 4.5 billion people live without a household toilet that safely disposes of their waste.

You can make a difference in bringing safe and sustainable sanitary practices and resources accessible to those in need. Today is the day to spread the word about the global sanitation challenge. Here are you can do on World Toilet Day :
1. Learn WAAW !
Did you know that there are strong links between antibiotic resistance and this year's theme of wastewater for World Toilet Day? If not, maybe World Antibiotic Awareness Week (WAAW) [ Protected content ] can help explain as well as this interview [ Protected content ]?

2. Let your kids watch a film
Ask your children if they have know where their poo goes after they flush. If the answer is "To the beach", show them this short film [ Protected content ] to easily explain where poo should go and what happens if it doesn't.

3. take over a website
Share your sanitation business’ story with the global business community by taking over the Toilet Board Coalition’s website [ Protected content ] from Protected content . Read the instructions here. [ Protected content ]

4.Learn something new
Have you ever wondered where your poo goes? Perhaps you’re lucky enough to live somehere where you don’t have to think about it. Because for billions of people, there is no safe toilet or sanitation service to take away the waste, allowing poo to get out into the open air where it’s spread by flies, making people seriously ill. This World Toilet Day, learn about the 4-step journey [ Protected content ] everyone's poo should take.

5.Get pumped
Join UNICEF [ Protected content ]
to move the world for World Children's Day - which is right after World Toilet Day. Gym clubs around the world will organize Workout for Water [ Protected content ] to bring safe water to children - an issue closely linked to safely managed sanitation services.

6. Ask an expert
On Monday 20 November join WSSCC's [ Protected content ] twitter chat [ Protected content ] to get a better understanding of what needs to be done to raise awareness and understanding of wastewater and human waste management.
