Let's Prevent Stunting in Indonesia

Stunting is the impaired growth and development that children experience from poor nutrition, repeated infection, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation. Stunting in early life -- particularly in the first Protected content from conception until the age of two - impaired growth has adverse functional consequences on the child. Some of those consequences include poor cognition and educational performance, low adult wages, lost productivity and, when accompanied by excessive weight gain later in childhood, an increased risk of nutrition-related chronic diseases in adult life.
Stunting prevalence in Indonesia was almost stagnant at 37% from year Protected content 2013. With the cutoff
point greater than 20%, WHO classified Indonesia has a public health problem. Although the government has taken necessary steps to reduce the number to around 26%, it is still above WHO standard.
Working together with GMB (Gerakan Membangun Bangsa / Nation-Building Movement), a non-profit organization which focuses on increasing health standard in Indonesia, especially stunting prevention. As they are having a lot of programs to run in near futures with government, they would love to have more volunteers to support their efforts.
GMB is hosting a monthly meetup as a way to get new people on board and to increase awareness of stunting prevention.
