This is an idea from Christopher Robinson (Changemakers group member) and please join us in having this circulated in your neighborhood and workplace!

This is started in my workplace (y)

Below is the detailed information shared by Christopher!

Hello Changemakers!
I have started a collecting foundation ( Protected content ) to create Sweden's largest Piggy Bank for children. The basic idea is to collect all the 1 and 5 kronor coins that will become worthless on Aug 31st. People can no longer spend these in stores, however, they can deposit them in the bank until Aug 31st (if the bank accepts cash (almost 2/3rds of Swedish banks no longer accept cash). There is still over 1 billion kronor in value of these coins out in society in peoples wallets, in purses, in jars at the summer home, between the couch cushions, etc. Our challenge to the Swedish population is to dig out these coins from hiding and donate them to Change for Change Sverige.

Although I have come a long way, I am finding that I still need lots of help in order to beat the deadline (only 35 days left to collect these) and make this a raging success to benefit the kids. All of the proceeds collected will go to different projects or organizations that benefit children living in Sweden. Some of the critical tasks I need help with are:
1) Collecting the change (not unsolicited, people will sign up on our website and then we will collect from them)
2) Corporate collections. Setting up collection points at companies and having the employees bring their change into work to deposit in a central collection point
3) Encouraging businesses to act as collection points (I'm trying to get some national coverage with a chain but this is proving to be difficult). Stores acting as collection points will have the added benefit of increased foot traffic to their locations.
I even need help with communication in Swedish since this is a national Swedish effort (although my Swedish is good, it is far from perfect when I write). There are a couple of organizations we have partnered with who would like to receive donations from us but we are open to other suggestions in relation to donees.

I also need help in spreading the word about Change for Change through social media (and other media). The two channels I have been using most are Facebook (@changeforchange.se) and LinkedIn on my personal page (Christopher Tique Robinson) although we are also listed on Instagram (@changeforchange.se) and Twitter (@StorstaSpargris) as well as our homepage ( Protected content ).

If any one wants to help out in this effort to create Sweden's largest Piggy Bank (Sveriges Största Spargris för barn), please contact me by email ( Protected content ) or by phone Protected content . I can give you more details about our efforts and you can use your talents in the best way you know of to help. This effort could make a huge difference for kids living in Sweden with money that will otherwise become worthless after Aug 31st.
Who wants to help collect Change to make a Change in the lives of children?

Cheers, Christopher
