Explore Kitendan in the heart of Amboseli, a wildlife-rich corridor between Amboseli National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro National Park in neighbouring Tanzania.
Amboseli is an amazing ecosystem on the foothills of the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, a tapestry of savannah grasslands and acacia forests, bare plains and lush swamps with ancient lake beds that only fill up during the rains. The local Maasai call this land ‘empusel’ meaning the land of dust.
At Satao Elerai as our abode, we will see Africa’s amazing wilderness and awake every day in search of her precious wildlife – on foot, on bikes or in a custom-fitted safari vehicle.
The Amboseli ecosystem is 3,500 square kilometres which is home to 1,700 elephants..
Amboseli’s elephants are the world's longest studied free-ranging elephants since Protected content , pioneered by Dr Cynthia Moss, founder of Amboseli Trust for Elephants. This year, Protected content a baby boom for elephants including two sets of twins after four decades. More than Protected content births have been recorded in Protected content , versus 19 births in Protected content .
