Dear All,

Thank you for signing up for our Second Spring Hiking of Protected content .

This time I suggest discovering The forest of Saint Germain En Laye, in the Yvelines department of the Ile-de-France!
Though, not at the Gates of Paris, this commune is easily reachable by RER.

No need to stress so as to catch a train and make extra kilometers to reach the woods…and, yet, you will be plunged into Mother Nature, feel the signs of Springtime.

Let's us plunge into the core of the National Forest of Saint Germain En Laye.

Meeting Point:
Outside the RER A station: SGEL

Time of departure:
11:30 am
We could start meeting around 11:20, while waiting for all attendees to arrive we check all the names on the list-participants. Then, by 11:30 we shall be heading to our itinerary.

Itinerary:
First, we will be starting our hiking in the heart of the forest just behind the castle.

Historic facts:
Saint-Germain-en-Laye is a sub-prefecture of the department. Because it includes the National Forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, it covers approximately 48 km Protected content mi), making it the largest commune in the Yvelines.
It occupies a large loop of the Seine. Saint-Germain-en-Laye lies at one of the western termini of Line A of the RER.

After around two-hour hiking we could have a refreshment break somewhere in the forest.
Thus, you are invited to bring along a snack-bag accordingly to our activity.

Hiking Target:
Our aim is to make around 18 to 20 kilometers, as we should have gained in efficiency since our last hiking.

Useful Recommendations:

Lastly, no need to remind you what clothes to neither wear nor what sort of shoes, as it is a hiking activity. Though I highly recommend you to wear a hat, please bring a flask (as fountains are not available in the woods) to rehydrate yourself and feel fit to carry on hiking. Apples or bananas are handy fruit just in case you feel hungry.

In order to enjoy and do the best of our activity-gathering, please try to be on time, there is a ten-minute waiting but beyond that timing, no call or SMS will be answered.
Looking forward to challenging new records!
Enny
