Join us for a long weekend trip to the Bale Mountains National Park. Monday 20th January is a public holiday for Epiphany. So take the opportunity to get out of the city for 3 days and visit Ethiopia's most important biodiversity hotspot. The park supports a rich mosaic of high-altitude habitats including lush evergreen forest, stands of giant bamboo, pastel-shaded moorland, and sheltered river valleys swathed in fragrant juniper-hagenia woodland. Three endemic large mammal species can be found in the park - the Ethiopian wolf, mountain Nyala and Bale monkeys and is listed by the African Birding Club as one of the continent’s top five birding hotspots.
The park is situated around 425km southeast of Addis so we will make an early start leaving from Addis Abeba Hilton Hotel at 6am to drive to Dinsho, Through Assela we will reach Dinsho in the early evening .
After a brief break, you will have time to make a short hike along the northern part of the park. Later late in the afternoon drive to Goba Protected content from Dinsho) where we will check into a hotel.In the evening, we will have dinner and stay the night at the hotel. O/N Wabe Shebelle Hotel, Goba.
Day 2: Excursion/Day trip to Sanetti Plateau
In the morning, you will have breakfast and drive to the Sanetti Plateau (altitude of Protected content , with Afro-alpine Moor land, beautiful wild alpine scenery) O/N Wabe Shebelle Hotel, Goba.
Day 3: Drive back to Adiss Abeba stop over for lunch Assela . Arrive Addsi Abeba early evening.
