Ready to Join?

Come and join the City Trotters on their next day trip out of the city. This time we will be hiking up Mount Ziqualla which is an extinct volcano located 25km from Bishoftu (Debra Zeit) on an unsealed road so the drive will take around 90 minutes.
It will take us around Protected content to hike up the mountain where there is a crater lake known as Lake Dembele and an Island monastery founded by Gebe Mentos Kedus in the 4th century. The mountain is 2, Protected content high. The lake is considered holy waters so we are not able to go in it but we can have a picnic lunch overlooking the lake before hiking down again.

Since this is a hiking trip please dress in suitable clothes and shoes. We will have two groups - those who can make it up to the top and those who just want to go halfway. However, you need to be reasonably fit and able to hike for Protected content uphill and then downhill again.

The price is Protected content which includes Entrance fee, transport, guide, water, soft drink & beer. Not included: Lunch.
