Had enough of German election posters leading up to Sunday's elections? Are you a German citizen who just hasn't made up his/her mind who to vote for? Well, here's just what you need to clear your mind and see things straight: the Peripatetic DinnerNations & Wine-Tasting this Saturday.

Let's wander leisurely and spontaneously to and fro through wooded trails and quaint village streets, enjoying the fresh air, local culinary delights and German's most undervalued secret: its wines. But, if the epicurian prospects are just not enough to entice you or simply seem "allzu banausemäßig" a.k.a. philistine, then know this:
As established by various archaeological finds, Freinsheim’s municipal area has been continuously settled by human beings for roughly 5,000 years. An organized community likely existed beginning in the 6th century, as witnessed by the discovery of a Merovingian linear graveyard.

Here's how the plan is looking:
Train or auto ride to Freinsheim arriving at approximately 15:18 (exactly if arriving via car; very approximately if via Deutsche Bahn). Subsequently, a short walk around the Freinsheim environs to make ourselves acquainted with the area and then a brief, but highly invigorating, hike on one of about 68 hiking trails for you to discover within the region of Freinsheim (see Protected content ), praising the beauties of nature with every step until we get hungry again. Then it's off to wine-tasting at Wein- und Feriengut Altes Landhaus ( Protected content ) and a visit to one of several fine culinary establishments in the vicinity. There is also, of course, an opportunity to purchase wines to bring home to console oneself next week after finding out who actually won the elections.
