Japanese Ink Wash Painting
Kon'nichiwa! The Museum Fünf Kontinente, the first ethnological museum in Germany, organizes a seminar led by Monica Hermann, which aims to give introduction to Ink wash painting, in Japanese sumi-e. Ink wash painting uses tonality and shading achieved by varying the ink density, both by differential grinding of the ink stick in water and by varying the ink load and pressure within a single brushstroke. Ink wash painting artists spend years practising basic brush strokes to refine their brush movement and ink flow and Ms. Hermann will offer basic explanation of this fascinating art (though in German, I believe, so be aware).
So, this event is rather informative, for it implies some interest and additional costs, so if you want to attend, please send an email to book a slot yourself. For further information just follow the link I will try to call Ms. Herman tomorrow and ask some additional questions, like how long does the "Kurseinheit" last and if there are any additional costs included. As soon as I know, I will update the current information.
I am going to participate (will be there at 9:50), so if you as well feel like joining and booked a slot, pm me.
