Let's get together for a Protected content hike in this lovely area. I chose Hog Hammock trail because it has a lot of shade, convenient parking and bathrooms.

The trail is crushed concrete with intermittent boardwalks. The area is a combination of restored and natural wetland communities. The animals we may see are snail kites, red shouldered hawks, barred owls, otters, bobcats, feral hogs, oak toads, wild turkeys, and white-tailed deer.

We will meet in the parking lot at 9:30 AM. After our hike we can enjoy a picnic lunch. Please bring plenty of water and leave some extra in your car. Other items that you may want to bring are snacks, lunch (leave in the car), camera, binoculars, face mask, insect repellent. I will try my best to avoid puddles, but I suggest you bring a change of shoes in case we have to walk through water.
The hike will last about 3 hours more or less. You are welcome to leave early, but will need to find your own way back to your car.
