Hiking weekend at the Mosel
What about a full weekend of hiking in one of the prettiest regions of Germany? We will hike through the Mosel River Valley, covering two parts of the famous Moselsteig.
Day 1: From Bullay to Neef
Duration: about 4h
Ascend: about 360m
Descent: about 400m
We will stay in Neef for the night. We can have dinner together and enjoy some famous Mosel wine and specialties made from vineyard peaches.
As many places are already booked, make sure you book your room early. Also, check availability in villages around Neef that can be easily reached by train (f.ex., Ediger-Eller or Bullay) or by foot (f.ex., Bremm).
Day 2: From Neef to Ediger-Eller
Duration: about 4h
The second tour is the highlight of our weekend as we will climb the Calmont and have a wonderful view of the vineyards and the Mosel River. From here we can enjoy the Vierseenblick (Four Lakes View) as the mountains make the river look like four separate lakes instead of one continuous stream.
However, this second part can by very steep with very narrow paths. You need to be sure-footed and wear proper hiking boots to safely climb the vineyards.
It's a moderate to difficult hike with some steep ascends. Further details can be found here:
