Talk : 19th China Party Congress: which road ahead?
19th China Party Congress: which road ahead?
with Chen Min, General Representative of China Chamber of International Commerce Office in Brussels
As the party congress gets into full swing in Beijing, several powers are competing and gaming in these two weeks. While clearly China is at a turning point, the outcome and direction of change is less so. Left, Right, Another Russia, or a Japan, possibly another North Korea, or even a US? No one can really tell. Due to the complexity of China’s political and economic ecosystem, together with its unique operating features, even one outcome appears before you, can policy makers and observers in the West digest them? For the Chinese themselves, how can they respond to the changes: stay or leave? Cooperate or combat? Invest or retreat? All are open questions. With the results of the Party Congress out by late October, Chen Min will discuss and assess them with us. Join us to explore what happened and what’s still to happen in the years to come.
