China Book Club : 'Lost Horizon' by James Hilton
This is the third book of our new China Book Club, in cooperation with the Belgium-China Association in Brussels, where we will gather once a month to discuss a China related book that has been announced previously so all members have time to read the book...
Our bookclub will meet on the 25th of August 4:30pm to talk about the novel “Lost Horizon” by James Hilton.
“While attempting to escape a civil war, four people are kidnapped and transported to the Tibetan mountains. After their plane crashes, they are found by a mysterious Chinese man. He leads them to a monastery hidden in “the valley of the blue moon” — a land of mystery and matchless beauty where life is lived in tranquil wonder, beyond the grasp of a doomed world.
It is here, in Shangri-La, where destinies will be discovered and the meaning of paradise will be unveiled.”
We gather to discuss the book, the author, the themes mentioned in the story and all topics related to it... a guarantee for a good discussion!
Even if you don't manage to read the book entirely, please do join us for an interesting exchange of ideas and relaxing afternoon...
Members are also invited to suggest books for upcoming reads..
Welcome on board and happy readings !
