Conversation on "The Four Loves"
Amaris Salon is a gathering of people for mutual encouragement, enrichment, and inspiration to pursue a life worth living. It is the first initiative of Amaris Living Foundation whose mission is to cultivate authentic happiness and joyful living that promotes health, celebrates life, and spreads love. Amaris Salon reflects upon some basic dimensions of life, and participants will be encouraged to engage in honest and heartfelt conversation to find their own answer to what makes for a life worth living.
Our next salon topic is "The Four Loves”. "The Four Loves" is title of a book written by C. S. Lewis, who was a professor of English language and literature at the University of Oxford and Cambridge but is mostly known to the general public as the author of The Chronicles of Narnia. In The Four Loves, Lewis explores the nature of love by considering love from its two types (Gift and Need) and the four ancient Greek words for love - Affection, Friendship, Eros, and Agape.
Join us in our evening of conversation on love as we explore together the nature of love.
