What a cultural month we are having! I have been wanting to do this tour for the last year and this is the only weekend the guide and I can agree on I'm afraid.

In a city of ancient beauty and classical art, the architecture of EUR certainly stands out as a rare example of 20th century architecture. Originally planned as the location of the World Fair in Protected content intended to be a celebration of 20 years of Fascism, but construction was stopped by WWII and the area wasn't completed until Protected content Rome hosted the Olympics.

Today it is the business district of Rome and not somewhere that tourists often come to, yet it is a curious place of massive structures inspired by ancient Rome, wide open streets built on a perfect grid plan, where the influence of Fascism is still surprisingly evident.

GETTING THERE:
The nearest metro stop is EUR Fermi.
Buses Protected content Termini/San Giovanni and Protected content Monteverde/Marconi both stop just passed the obelisk. Walk back a bit and cross the road to reach the museum.
