Discover the ancient tomb of Piramide Cestia (English)
TICKETS MUST BE PREPAID
Without a doubt, Piramide is one of Rome's most iconic tombs. Built in the 1st century BC after Egypt had been annexed to the Roman Empire, sparking a trend in Egyptian inspired art and architecture.
Living in Rome, we are used to passing this curious little structure on our way to Testaccio, but a lucky few are able to go inside the ancient burial chamber and learn more about one of the city's best preserved Roman monuments.
Our visit will be in English, in the company of a official guide who will take us around the structure, explain how it came to be here, how it survived and was plundered down the centuries and finally accompany us down the short entrance tunnel into the burial chamber, where we will see the recent restorations of the wall paintings.
There are 20 tickets available for this visit and they will go to the first people to send us the money.
