Have you ever.....
 Cycled in the wild?
 Had a night game drive before?
 Taken a relaxing dip in a hot spring?
 Then flown off in a hot air balloon; in the wild?

If not then why not?
Very very thrilling.

 We will leave Nairobi at 10AM Friday 19th October Protected content , heading to Loita Hills where we will spend the night at the amazing Maji Moto Eco Lodge in Loita Hills.

 A nearby hot spring awaits us. We will later go for a night game drive after dinner

 Next Saturday morning after breakfast, armed with water and picnic lunches prepared by our hosts; we will head out on our hired bikes with Masai guides along the tracks of the Olarro and Siana Conservancies. This is a 60km distance on dirt road. TBC.
This is a leisurely ride in the African bush where game viewing most certainly is the objective; as opposed to a race.
The van will be with us all the way in case anyone gets tired. ;)

 On arrival at Rhino Tourist that evening, we will check in to our rooms and relax. Dinner will be served and then get some sleep

 The following Sunday morning we will be picked up by the Hot air balloon drivers at 5.00AM and head out to the launch site in Masai Mara and have some coffee before take-off at 6.00AM. (This is an optional activity)
Protected content after the flight we will have a full champagne breakfast

 For those not going for the balloon flight will go on a safari in the tour van then join us for the champagne breakfast.

 We will then head back to our camp where we will encounter wild animals enroute.

 We will carry our packed lunch then head back to Nairobi by 5.00PM.

We will head to the camp from Nairobi at 10AM to arrive at around 3PM.
We can choose to swim and enjoy the view of the mountains and plains from the nearby hot spring as we wait for dinner and our night game drive.
All structures are built Masai-style using only local materials such as branches and stalks, grass, cow dung and stone.
Water for showers is pumped from the nearby natural hot spring, a very special treat!

A night game drive often shows many of the smaller animals rarely seen on daytime game drives – Bat-eared Fox, Bush baby, Honey Badger, Jackal, Mongoose, Spring-hare or Striped Hyena. And if you're lucky – Aardvark, Leopard or Lion.
We will set out after dinner, around 8PM, for approximately 2 hour, to see what is there to see. You can hope to see genet cat, aardvark, fox, zebra, wildebeest, hare.
We can return by way of the hot spring for us to take a night dip before retiring to bed.

Our hosts are equipped with many Mountain Bikes (helmets too) for short trips away from camp. Their staff includes several expert Maasai cyclists who will lead us on our journey, and who can take care of any mechanical issues we might encounter.

THE BIKE RIDE is along the tracks of the Olarro and Siana Conservancies, covering approximately 60kms in mostly flat terrain that is not very difficult (no big hills or rocky paths) and it’s easy for our tour van to follow along just in case someone gets tired cycling.
The animals we’re likely to see are the giraffe, buffalo, zebra, gazelle and maybe elephants from afar, and not likely to see lions. The Maasai guides will be there to ride ahead and behind the group to ensure lookout for any wildlife they need to guide around, and there is our vehicle ahead or behind as well. It is quite safe in all the times that the camp has done this.

DAY THREE: THE BALLOON RIDE (This is optional)

Hop into a basket and venture out on a hot air balloon flight!
Custom safari vehicles will collect us from camp at around 5AM to take us to the launch site. We will arrive at the launch site by 6AM, and can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while watching the balloons being prepared for take-off. We will then meet our pilot, who will give us a safety briefing as well as explain what to expect during the flight.

The quiet, relaxing ride allows you to view an amazing assortment of wildlife from a unique bird’s-eye view. The lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo can be seen frequently along with other animals such as hippos, crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, birds, and many more. The flight will last approximately one hour, depending on wind conditions, and the balloon will land between 7: Protected content .
Each passenger then receives a certificate from their pilot as a special memoir of their flight.

A bush champagne breakfast will be served on landing, on the open plains of Maasai Mara. Those who will not take the balloon flight will join us for this.
Our breakfast is set up on the picturesque savannah plains of the Mara, typically under the shade of a single acacia tree. You will sit down to a full bush breakfast in the Kenyan style, complete with eggs-to-order, fresh juices, waiters in traditional Swahili attire, and, of course, champagne.

Because balloons are transported by the prevailing winds they cannot fly back to their take-off point. After breakfast, we will be driven slowly back to the camp in retriever vehicles.
