From Warsaw to Karakum Desert of Turkemnistan (and back!)
"Turkmens. The art of everyday life"- is the first exhibition in Poland devoted to the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people living in vast areas of Central Asia - primarily Turkmenistan, but also Iran and Afghanistan.
We will see a rich and representative collection of Turkmens' handicrafts, which consist of exquisitely embroidered costumes, distinctive, massive jewelry, headgear and rug and felt carpets.
A separate part of the exhibition is the work of contemporary Turkmen artists from the collection of the museum: the painter of Polish origin Włodzimierz Pawłocki and the graphic artist Meret Kłyczew. The collection represents a unique piece of art work from Central Asia from the second half of XX century.
In addition to above mentioned exhibition we will be able to visit a permanent exhibition called "Sound Zone" which is represented by Protected content instruments from different cultural areas and countries.
As many of you already know, I love cultural activities just like eating:-) That is why I propose to eat a late lunch together in "Solec 44" the place which is a mixture of the bar, board games club and restaurant, serving in unpretentious entourage the cuisine of the highest flight!
The menu changes every month, and the dishes are composed of excellent quality products - the owner knows each supplier personally. The mix of flavors and ingredients are as crazy as they are brilliant. This is where you can taste the snail roasted with lemon cream and smoked cream, chocolate meringue, and thyme fried in salted caramel. Proponents of conservative tastes will have a choice of soup, salads and stir fry dishes. There have excellent meats & one of the best steaks in Warsaw!
Happy to see you soon!
Ps. For organizational matters: If for some reason you can't attend the event don't forget to cancel your attendance:-) Thank you!
