Fail Safe - A classic Cold War movie.
A series of human and computer errors sends a squadron of American 'Vindicator' bombers to nuke Moscow. The President, in order to convince the Soviets that this is a mistake, orders the Strategic Air Command to help the Soviets stop them. Assisting the Russians strains some in the US military, who distrust the Russians and are reluctant to reveal secrets. Likewise, the Russians distrust the information being provided to them. Tensions are high, given the prospect of Americans dropping nukes on Moscow.
