Author of "The God of Small Things" will read parts of her new novel: "The Ministry of Upmost Happiness". The meeting is going to be in English.
First novel of this Indian writer brought her Man Booker Prize for Fiction in Protected content . 20 years later she publishes the second book which "deals with some of the darkest and most violent episodes of modern Indian history, from land reform that disowned poor farmers to the Protected content train burning and Kashmir insurgency. Roy's characters run the gamut of Indian society and include a trans woman (hijra), a rebellious architect, and her landlord who is a supervisor in the intelligence service.
