For this month’s meeting we are featuring the elevator pitch, described by one website as “…a pitch that describes your business in a nutshell and can be delivered as a speech (ideally in 60 seconds or less), a pitch presentation, or as a one-page overview of your business.”

It must be kept simple with no audio/visual equipment — just describe your concept in words. The rest of us will listen and provide feedback. I would like to have an atmosphere that is not too critical, allowing for first draft attempts and trying out some ideas that could be mere possibilities. Of course, more polished pitches are also welcome.

For anyone who will definitely participate, you can send me a message ahead of time so I can get an idea of how many we will have participating. If you are not sure exactly what an elevator pitch is, google away — there is plenty of instructional material out there.

This is the perfect opportunity to practice a speech in front of an actual audience. Good luck!

About the new Consul: I am a former entrepreneur and may become one again. I would like to reinvigorate the group because I feel entrepreneurs particularly can benefit from collaboration. Resources are often scarce or expensive, so this is a way to maximise a very important one — information.
