The Basílica de la Virgen de los Desamparados invites us on a very special cultural walk to celebrate the legacy of Father Juan Gilabert Jofré Protected content , founder of the world’s first hospital for the mentally ill — the Hospital de los Santos Inocentes, origin of the devotion to Valencia’s beloved Virgen de los Desamparados.

Guided by historians (in Spanish), the route is carefully organized and full of historical and artistic surprises. A symbolic contribution of 2€ per person (to be paid in cash at the beginning of the route) helps to preserve this cultural heritage.

We’ll meet at 9:45 a.m. before the walk that will start at 10:00 a.m.
