Gladiators - Heroes of the Colosseum - Nîmes & Resto
We spend an afternoon in Nîmes and visit an archaeological museum of a new generation and its temporary exhibition - GLADIATORS - HEROES OF THE COLOSSEUM
This is the first international traveling exhibition developed in collaboration with the Colosseum in Rome. This exhibition presents facts from fiction and illustrates the gladiators, the heroes of the ancient arenas.
The exhibition unfolds on two paths revealing two protagonists interwoven by destiny: The Gladiators and the Colosseum, the greatest arena of the antiquity.
Through the display of original objects and modern models and through cutting-edge interactive technology, suggestive graphics and multimedia devices, the life of the Gladiators becomes an immersive and touching experience.
It's the last chance to see this exhibition as it is finishing its round-the-world trip in Nîmes.
To set the mood:
WILL WE SURVIVE A DAY IN THE ARENA AS A GLADIATOR?
We learn about the often poorly known everyday life of these important heroes who have been immortalised in the imagination by many references in epic films.
The history of gladiators, the famous heroes of the arena, see their daily life, equipment and training and the ingenious construction of the amphitheatres in which they fought—and become one of these heroes yourself for a day.
Wow, sounds great!
Well first of all, we have to strengthen ourselves before our 'training' as a gladiator and going to the arena. We do that in theProtected content
Also for this trip, if we find volunteer drivers, that would be great. Of course with participation in fuel costs. Otherwise we take train or bus. Infos later.
I look forward to a summer afternoon in the 'French Rome', to the immersion in Roman history and of course to you!
