Last Minute Sunday Hike
A rather spontaneous decision, taken with some folks who didn't make it last weekend...
Finally it'll be in La Ciotat. No extrem difficulties, but we are on uneven terrain. An 11-year-old will be with us, but she's pretty fit... don't expect a very slow stroll...
Start with a short climb up to "Notre Dame de la Garde", a small chapel, with nice views from there. Then we are taking a rarely used trail through two tiny valleys. Pretty barren land, some cactus fields, you can get close to the cliffs and look down to the waves crashing against the rocks. Lots of flowers blossoming at the moment. Additional positive point: this part is entirely shielded from the mistral.
Then we continue the regular trail up to the "Sémaphore". Great views, looking several hundred meters down to the sea... From there the trail follows the cliffs more or less closely, and we can walk as far as we want...
Right now, the weather forecast looks ok, partly sunny, partly cloudy, decent temperatures, and some mistral, but not too strong.
Meeting point at the small "intersection" between "Chemin du Sémaphore" and the "Traverse de Notre Dame de la Garde". Cars can be parked close by. Contact me if you need more indications.
Send me a message or call me if you have any questions.
