Jazz in cultural site (JAZZMI)
On the occasion of the second edition of Protected content
Ubik Trio is a project born between the two cities of Milan and Turin after two years of careful preparation and research. By sharing the same tastes in music, from traditional jazz to contemporary electronic and contemporary music, band members try to achieve a symbiosis between different styles and genres as well as other forms of art. The name itself, Ubik, is not only a tribute to writer Philip K. Dick, but it also stands out for ubiquity, the ability to be anywhere at the same time. The main driving force behind their first UBIK studio album was the shared love of the band for authors such as Gibson and Dostoevsky. The Ubik features a repertoire of original songs followed by some specially arranged covers to make them closer to the style of the Trio.
Thanks to the Touring Club Italiano Aperti per Voi initiative, allowing volunteers to ma- nage cultural and artistic sites that are normally closed to the public JAZZMI gets back in the severe and sumptuous venue of Casa Verdi, founded by the Italian Maestro as a retirement home for less than fortunate artists or for those who «in their youth did not possess the virtue of saving».
