[GAMES] Dixit v Insider v Codenames: Three-way hide & guide
Three popular boardgames meet to form a common theme for concealing different names or words, giving clues and guiding the right players to find out the truth, while remaining hidden.
Dixit (many thanks to the people that proposed it :)):
Dixit is a game for storytellers. Each round the selected storyteller has to conjure up a description of a card of their own choice, which description is neither too obscure (such that no other player can identify it), nor too obvious (such that every player is able to guess it). If the right balance is achieved - the storyteller receives their points and gets a few steps closer to the winning score.
Each round of the game features a "master" and an "insider". The master chooses a word, which then the rest of the players must guess via carefully composed yes/no questions. The job of the insider is to help this process, while staying hidden from the other players, because the second phase of the game would be for the master and the other players to unmask the insider. Good luck with that!
Codenames (Deep Undercover edition):
The game is played by two spy teams with the aim to discover the code names of their compatriots, as quickly as possible. Each of the teams has a "spymaster" who conducts the search via single-worded clues. The intricate combinations of positive and negative constraints about the clues make the game very engaging. Additional entertainment is provided by the cheeky references and double entendres. Beware the assassin!!
The venue is the spacious Protected content cafe, where we can have a variety of snacks and drinks to provide strength and mood for playing.
