Balkan Artz is a musical project inspired by Balkan, Romanian and Hungarian music. It was formed in Protected content the combination of fascination and musical experience of Olga Bartosiewicz (vocals), Nikolay Nikolaev (electro-acoustic bass), Marcin Julius Szabó (electro-acoustic and electric guitar) and Adam Hliniak (darbuka and bouzuki). A little later, Laurențiu Căliman (cajon, darbuka and tapan) and Michał Radmacher (clarinet and accordion) joined the group. During Balkan Artz's concerts, elements of folk music are combined with rock'n'roll, darbuka and cajon enter into dialogue with bass guitar, accordion competes with electric guitar, and lyrical sevdalinks sound next to lively Romanian songs. The second part of the band's name refers to the Hungarian word "Arc", which means "face". - and this is how Balkan Artz, combining traditional sounds with modern arrangements, shows the listeners a new face of Balkan music.
