Let's try the first ever Flamenco( Blues of Spain) Jam Event.
To secure your confirmed and guaranteed seating , please donate by this Friday, February 16th by email money transfer of $20 to Silvia at her following email address and password information:
If I do not receive anyone's payment confirmation here by this Friday, February 16th then I will ask that person to remove the name from this attendee list.
So far I have received only one payment confirmation from Ahmed in this list.
I will send the names of the other persons who will confirm their payment by this Friday , to Silvia to firm up their reserved spot in the venue. So if you have not paid yet then please do so at the earliest and if you already did but have not sent me a confirmation yet then please let me know as soon as possible.
The venue which is a restaurant is very small where I had been only once and I think it has a capacity of 30 to 35 people at most.
They will let people in based on first come first serve but the host and main organizer , Silvia Temis, on my special request (after explaining her that lots of our internations members were not able to purchase a ticket online in last Saturday's , January 13th event as all tickets got sold out 4 days before the event), has kindly agreed to make an exception,by holding a table for us on conditions:
1) that everyone who signs up here will agree to pay the suggested donation of $20 in advance by email money transfer to her from your bank account.
and Protected content commit to attend by 7 pm sharp when the show starts.
Since this is an experimental project of theirs to be held once a month (time tables listed until June of this year for now), we from internations should keep our part of the bargain by meeting those above mentioned conditions, which will enable all of us who sign up for these events here, guaranteed access to these shows.
From my past experience about these events including the most recent one a few days ago in a much larger restaurant, the seats get filled up very soon once they declare the schedule. So agreeing with Siivia's proposal for our guaranteed seating is the best one to accept, the lack of which will result in, us competing with the large masses of public in general , outside of the internations community , for very limited seating, causing disappointments for many.
With that said, I sincerely hope that we can fill up the capacity of 6 here by this Friday, February 16th, with only people who are committed to attend.
Opening Artists will be
Singer: Protected content Temis,
Dancer: Jane Ogilvie (from Edmonton)
and Guitarist: Tosh Hayashi
After the first part, it will be open to anyone who wants to perform at the stage , in a true jam format. Hope we can discover some hidden talents in our internations community there, lol :)).
The following section is copied from the organizer's website:
Flamenco Jams Calgary Protected content
Flamenco Jams is a project to promote The Flamenco Art Form, to discover new talented people, to gain new friends, to hook up with professionals and teachers,to practice your flamenco skills, to enhance the flamenco Calgary and surroundings community.
Every last weekend of each month there will be an opening act with 3 based Albertan artists to do a traditional flamenco show (cuadro flamenco) and then open the stage for whoever is interested in continuing the "juerga style" (party style) event.
We had the chance to run this project in Protected content it was a great success. Tell all your friends to come!! Make a reservation since space is limited!
Stay tuned for details and find out who are the first 3 artists to open the January event! Oleeee!
This event is by donation ( suggested donation $20)
