About #RadianceofResistance

Winner of Best Documentary at Respect Human Rights Festival in Belfast. Radiance of Résistance tells the story of Janna Ayyad 9 years old, and Ahed Tamimi 14 years old who have become global ambassadors for Palestinian human rights. The film is an intimate look at their everyday lives and role as part of the new generation of Palestinian civil rights leaders. Janna and Ahed have gained international recognition for their creative resistance. Janna has been dubbed by The Guardian as the: youngest journalist in Palestine.” NBC News Press said: “West Bank Teen Ahed Tamimi Becomes Poster Child for Palestinian Plight”

Ahed Tamimi, now 17 yrs old, has generated international support as she is currently imprisoned awaiting trial by the Israeli government after being dragged from her home in a predawn raid in December last year because she stood up to IDF soldiers who invaded her home and shot her cousin.

The film is a full length documentary Protected content that includes grass roots footage from local Palestinian journalist Bilal Tamimi. Award winning Filmmakers Jesse Roberts (PUSH Tunisia) and Jesse Locke (AMZ Productions) did several trips over the course of a year to capture the story.

The film is an intimate look at their everyday lives and their importance as part of the new generation of Palestinian non-violent resistance. “Nabi Saleh images illustrate changing asymmetry of Israeli-Palestinian conflict” – The Guardian.".

As always, I find this particular annual event a very interesting and engaging one for the audience to seek and share the truth that sometimes gets intentionally overlooked and neglected by the western media at large which I find very troublesome and mysterious. Point in case is how a teenager named Malala Yousafzai was made an overnight sensation and darling of the western media whereas Ahed Tamimi was largely ignored.

Well, if you care to seek some honest answers for the apparent double standards that the media has treated these two individuals, you are welcome to join me. I would like to copy a link below for an article that I read :

Protected content

and finding the answers for this differential treatment as far as the mainstream media coverage goes in the west, will be my main motivation to spend 3 hours of my time in front of the screen and I hope , with you company, it will be time well spent, worthy of every minute to seek the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Looking forward to have an exciting afternoon with you.

Cheers !
