Flamenco Evening: Blues Music & Dance From Southern Spain
Hello flamenco afficitiniados !! Time to experience the Blues genre of music from across the Atlantic Ocean in the southern Andalusia province of Spain.
For those of you who are either coming to Flamenco for the 1st time w/o any prior knowledge, this is what I have for you:
The exact origin of flamenco is unknown & the subject of many hypotheses. The most widespread is that flamenco was developed through the cross-cultural interchange between native Andalusians, Romani, Castilians, Moors & Sephardic Jews in Andalusia during the Moorish occupation.
Flamenco, form of song, dance, & instrumental (mostly guitar) music commonly associated w/ the Andalusian Roma (Gypsies)of southern Spain.
