Inge Morath The life. The Photography.
Hi friends of photography
... a beautiful exhibition awaits us !!
The Museum of Rome in Trastevere hosts the first Italian retrospective of Inge Morath ( Protected content ), the first female photojournalist who joined the famous Magnum Photos photo agency.
Tireless, polyglot traveler, a woman of multifaceted interests and profound culture, Morath was born in Graz, Austria, in Protected content . She does not fear cultural, linguistic or geographical barriers: her knowledge of different foreign languages allowed her to analyze in depth every situation and to come into direct contact with people.
Working relationships with personalities such as Ernst Haas, Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson, help to clarify the professional evolution of Morath and the personal photographic style nourished by the humanistic ideals after the Second World War, but also by photography as a "decisive moment" as Cartier-Bresson called it.
Through his photographs, he retraces the steps of his main geo-ethnographic reportages, including also the famous series of curious portraits with the masks of the designer Saul Steinberg.
We are waiting for you!
