Hungarian December Customs - Santa Claus Factory
Hungarians believe that Christmas is the festivity of love: leaving daily routine behind to slow down and enjoying family, love, peace, harmony, good food and some presents under the tree.
This time of the year is about giving! And sharing!
But not all of the families are so lucky.
In the last couple of years more and more (thousands of) Hungarians (and even foreigners) go every December to Santa Claus Factory (in Hungarian: Mikulásgyár) to the most widespread and long running charity events in Budapest to donate for poor children inside, and for Hungarian communities outside the border of Hungary.
Come and join me in this festivity custom, let’s help together those families in need!!!
Just bring any of your unwanted items suitable for children (toys, books), or/and especially durable food products (conserve food, flour, sugar, etc.), cleaning and toiletries or clothes to help (you don’t have to wrap them).
Believe me, it’s a wonderful feeling to help people even without knowing them!!!
Besides giving gifts, we can also enjoy some family programs, concerts, Christmas shows or a drink together!
I'll be waiting for you there!
