The Meaning of Life and Death (in English)
What is the meaning of life and death? Will someone who never thinks about these issues never be happy? Or maybe by trying to decipher the meaning of life we make ourselves miserable? These and other questions arise and after thousands of years, we are yet to find a clear answer. So should we abandon the question altogether?
We live in very fortunate times. In the 21st century, in the majority of countries we can realistically expect not to die a violent and premature death. We also have opportunities, health and knowledge that would be impossible to attain for past generations. Even the current pandemic cannot be compared to the mass deaths of yesteryear.
We’ll get together in front of our screens and with coffee or other beverage in hand talk to other human beings that are as passionate as ourselves about finding answers.
Some subjects we’ll touch on:
•Does life have meaning and why?
•Why is there something rather than nothing?
•What does it fell like not to exist?
•Death – does it bring meaning to life?
•Does the meaning of life have to do with its quality?
•Why are we afraid to die?
•Immortality – is it better or worse to be mortal?
