War and Conflict: Destructive or Creative Forces? (in Spanish)
War and all kinds of conflict in the world causes enormous suffering and vulnerability, however, are factors like war, aggressive competition, and all kinds of conflicts a necessary condition for progress?
War and other kinds of conflict have important effects beyond words and ideologies. Many countries have gained independence in a violent way, creating their own political base and liberty. War also destroys countries and their populations, radically hindering their economy, enslaving free peoples, and imposing the will of the few on the many.
The central question remains: are wars and conflicts, in all their facets, largely destructive or creative forces?
We’ll get together in front of our screens and with coffee or other beverage in hand talk to other human beings that are as passionate as ourselves about finding answers.
Some subjects we’ll touch on:
•War and other violent conflicts - inevitable?
•Is history written by the victors?
•Are we ever close or ever further apart in a globalized world?
•The rise of the West – thanks to war?
•The benefits of conflict in the world
•Creative destruction – the source of our prosperity?
•The future of war and conflicts
Upon finishing the get-together, we will have reflected on the creative and destructive impulses of humanity and their impact on our lives.
