How Smart Are You? The Nature of Genius and Intelligence
The phrase "All men are created equal" is part of the United States Declaration of Independence. However, you can be forgiven for questioning this as we explore the incredible feats of a select group of human anomalies over the millennia. How do we compare to them?
Understanding the characteristics that constitute a prodigy or genius in general and the phenomenon of various types of intelligence may help us ‘normal’ humans better choreograph our everyday lives and understand our own cognition.
Find your passion and pursue it, create your own best work, never stop learning, acquire outside experiences, and start new hobbies and finally share your work with the world. Is this the recipe for each and every one of us?
Some subjects we’ll touch on:
•Genius – created by nature or nurture?
•Does ‘extraordinary opportunity’ create a prodigy?
•Do most people have the potential to achieve the status of genius?
•Differences in IQ between races, genders, and ethnicities – real or imagined?
•Child prodigies vs. adult geniuses
•Cultivating extraordinary skills
•Living in a “more intelligent” country – does it matter to you?
•Intelligence and mental health – the curse of the prodigy?
•Creativity and human genius – a dying breed in modern times?
