Laughter Therapy (‘Risoterapia’) Mini-Workshop
Laughter Therapy (‘Risoterapia’ in Spanish) is a technique that facilitates the generation of laughter, without being necessarily attached to humor (i.e. without humor being the underlying cause of the laughter). The goal of this workshop is to teach and explain some physical and mental techniques that will allow us to produce laughter, as well as to experience joy more easily in our day-to-day life.
Experts have not taken the study of laughter lightly. Since the Protected content , the benefits of both natural laughter and ‘fake’ laughter for the well-being and health of humans, have been scientifically studied. There are medical centers in the United States, England and Spain, among other countries, where laughter therapy is used as an alternative therapy for those who suffer from serious illnesses, including persons afflicted by PTSD and depression.
Through this workshop, we will not just have fun, but we will also see first-hand that we don’t need to get sick in order to discover the power of laughter to make us feel and ‘be’ well. Laughter is, after all, the best medicine!
IMPORTANT: Please note that this workshop will be facilitated in Spanish.
