"Pioneering" Chinese Artists Abroad (1911-1949)
There are couple of exhibitions ongoing at Protected content
"Pioneering: Chinese Artists Abroad in France and Chinese Morden Art ( Protected content ) looks very interesting.
China’s modern study abroad movement began in the Protected content . There were many students who traveled abroad. They energetically studied political, economic, military, intellectual, cultural, and artistic subjects. After they returned to China, they dedicated their immense energies and made great contributions, becoming pioneers and founders in many fields.
In the fine arts world, the artists such as Xu Beihong, Lin Fengmian, Liu Haisu, Yan Wenliang, Chang Shuhong, Pang Xunqin, Wu Dayu and Chang Yu (Sanyu), who studied in France attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, primarily studying oil painting, drawing, and sculpture. This group of artists later played main role in driving Chinese art from tradition to modernity.
You will see about Protected content from this group of artists. Please bear in mind 9th Jun will be the last day for this exhibition.
Xue Song: Phoenix Art from the Ashes is another current exhibition which also worth visiting.
Being one of the few private museums in China, Protected content is growing fast and bringing more and more good works for visitors. Let's explore together!
